14 Celebs Who Were Dumped in a Headline or Status Update
Getting dumped via text is widely considered one of the most disrespectful ways to end a romance—but imagine if your partner broke up with you through a viral TMZ alert! From sudden social media posts to unexpected divorce filings, these stars learned their relationships were over at the same time as the general public.
Here are 14 celebs who were allegedly dumped in a headline or a status update:
1. Jordan Ngatikaura and Jessi Draper
In 2026, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast member Jordan Ngatikaura filed for divorce from Jessi Draper after nearly six years of marriage. Jordan told TMZ, “This has not been an easy decision, and it comes with a heavy heart. I’m grateful for the shared memories and the lessons. While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition. I am committed to handling this next chapter with kindness and respect. I kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this as a family.”

The following day, Jessi sat down for an interview with the Call Her Daddy podcast. She revealed to host Alex Cooper, “I actually found out that he filed through TMZ. They texted me while I was in LA. I got a message saying, ‘Hey, we just saw Jordan filed for divorce. How are you doing?’ They said, ‘It’s TMZ.’ … I was the one who ended it with him, so I knew it was coming, but we had a firm agreement to file together. He blindsided me and filed solo just because he wanted to control the headline first.”

She continued, “My heart sank because we agreed to tell our children together before any legal filing, and we hadn’t done that yet. It felt like a total betrayal. I had a massive packet of paperwork regarding assets and property that we were supposed to complete together. He just went ahead and did it all without me, so I have no idea what terms he set. My lawyer also told me he tried to include a clause preventing me from talking about him on podcasts—so, sorry!”
Jessi added, “It’s ironic because while I ended it due to ‘irreconcilable differences,’ he claimed in the papers it was because of an affair with Marciano, someone I kissed over a year ago. We already moved past that on TV, so it’s crazy. The real kicker is I have proof that an escort service reached out to me with screenshots of his phone number and messages trying to meet up. He even booked a hotel. I protected him during the Marciano drama, and he told me the escort messages were ‘AI’ meant to tear us apart. It wasn’t.”

2. Jaime King and Austin Sosa
Jaime King became engaged to investment banker Austin Sosa in the summer of 2025. After a secret wedding, Sosa filed for divorce in January 2026. King told Page Six, “I was completely blindsided by the divorce filing; it came out of nowhere. I was actually with Austin the night before it went public. While we had normal marital challenges, I truly believed we were working through things.” She also shut down rumors regarding Vikram Chatwal, stating, “Any recent interactions were strictly professional and have zero connection to this private matter.”

Jaime added, “My current focus is my career and my children. This is a deeply personal situation that should remain private. I hope people stop making assumptions—especially those that unfairly scrutinize women for simply doing their jobs.”

3. Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart
In 2013, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams discovered her two-year marriage to Kordell Stewart was over via social media. Most shockingly, they were in the same house at the time. She told ABC News, “I was literally lying in bed, looked at Twitter, and it was going crazy. I saw right there that my husband had filed for divorce.”

Thinking it was a hoax, she approached Kordell in the same house. She recalled, “It wasn’t a fight. I just asked him, ‘Had you filed?’ which felt insane to say. He just said he’d thought about it and they’d talk later, then he left for work. I had to call my own lawyer to confirm it. I felt heartbroken and ashamed because I took pride in being a wife. For it to end that way felt like a failure, but I know there is more in store for me.”

Kris initially filed for an annulment based on “fraud,” though the divorce was eventually finalized in 2013. In a 2019 Player’s Tribune essay, he wrote, “A lot of that world isn’t real, but our relationship was 100% real. When it didn’t work, it sucked. Going through that embarrassment publicly is a whole other level of brutal.”

He noted the difficulty of being known for his personal life rather than basketball. “I remember being booed in Philly and wondering if they thought I just wanted to be famous. It killed me because I just wanted to be a basketball player. I dealt with major anxiety and was in a dark place for a year. You can’t win against the tabloid machine, so I didn’t even try to defend myself at the time.”
5. Max Ehrich and Demi Lovato
In 2020, Max Ehrich and Demi Lovato ended their whirlwind two-month engagement. Max claimed on Instagram, “Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid… while you’re filming a movie about a Pastor intended to help people.”

However, sources told People that Demi had made Max aware of the split before it hit the press. To get you up to speed: After news broke that Barry and Sabrina reportedly split in late 2024 after a year of dating, the internet was flooded with rumors that he had been unfaithful to the “Espresso” singer with influencer Breckie Hill. For her part, Breckie quickly shut down the cheating speculation on her own platforms.

Despite the denial, the wave of online negativity aimed at the Saltburn star was so intense that he eventually felt forced to delete his Instagram account and release a statement regarding the “hate” he was enduring during that period.

While appearing on a recent episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Barry addressed those persistent cheating rumors directly. He shared a candid look at how the public narrative has fundamentally altered his life—and his perspective was truly heartbreaking.

“I came off Instagram and social profiles,” he confessed during the interview. “I’ve stopped going to events. I’ve stopped, you know, just, socializing. It’s because, you know, there was a narrative out there that was never really sort of even spoken on, a narrative that’s not true, and I never confirmed or said anything about it. And, you know, I just disappeared.”

Reflecting on the unique struggles of “having a relationship in the public eye,” Barry pointed toward the video where Breckie denied the rumors. “No one seemed to latch on to that video,” he noted, expressing frustration over how the public perception has shifted since the breakup.

“I’m not asking for people to become my fan and like me because that’s not normal either,” he continued. “But I’m asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can, involving my parents who are no longer with me… just absolutely disgusting and vile. There’s videos on TikTok literally going, ‘I hate him.'”

Shannon Elizabeth OnlyFans Earnings: American Pie Star Wealth
If you’re a millennial of a certain age, you know Shannon Elizabeth from a few things. Between the American Pie franchise, Tomcats, Scary Movie, and even a Jay and Silent Bob movie or two, she was arguably one of the queens of the “movies you watched at a sleepover party” subcategory.

©Universal/Courtesy Everett Collection
Shannon’s acting career has remained fairly steady since then, but she recently took on a new role entirely: OnlyFans creator. She joined the service just a few weeks ago, telling People at the time that starting her own OnlyFans was because “I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans.”

Well, just a few weeks later, People has a new report on how the OnlyFans foray is going for Shannon — and as it turns out, she’s seemingly struck content-creator gold in the process.

A source tells the publication that Shannon brought in “more than seven figures” on the first week she joined OnlyFans. Seven figures! Let that sink in.

The source adds that Shannon “is really making a name for herself” on her page, and they also note that there is no full nudity featured on it. “She is super happy she now gets to take control and be engaged with her fans,” the source adds.
