In a recent TikTok, the Wicked actor claimed she was denied boarding on a Southern Airways flight because she uses a wheelchair.

Marissa explained that she was traveling to a small town in Pennsylvania for a speaking engagement. While her first flight, operated by United Airlines, went smoothly, things took a turn when she tried to board her connecting flight with Southern Airways.

Marissa claims the issue began when she couldn’t find her boarding pass and approached the gate to ask for help.

“I got to the gate and was like, ‘Hey, could you help me locate my boarding pass?'” Marissa recalled. “And the two people at the gate look at me, and they’re like, ‘Can you stand?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And they said, ‘I’m sorry, but because of that, we’re going to have to deny you boarding.'”

Marissa claimed that the agents told her all of their planes require passengers to use stairs to board — which she described as “wild.”

“I said, ‘I’ve never heard that before. You’re telling me none of the people that have flown on your plane before are disabled?’ To which they said, ‘No. Even the elderly have a hard time getting up those stairs.'”

Clearly frustrated, Marissa questioned why accessibility isn’t being addressed proactively. “Why are we once again waiting around for a disabled person to be present to even think about changing things or accommodating things?” she said. “And even then, I know they’re not gonna do it.”

“That’s exactly what I said to him. I was like, ‘Disabled people are not an afterthought.’ Why, knowing that disabled people exist, which y’all clearly often forget, do you choose not to update your planes? I was like, ‘This is blatant segregation.'”

But rather than acknowledge her concerns, Marissa claimed the gate agent deflected, saying the weight of her wheelchair was also an issue.

“My chair is 35 pounds,” Marissa noted. “I am heavier than my chair. My chair is probably less than other people’s luggage, which is exactly what I told him, and then when he realized what he said was bullshit, he started fumbling and then just repeated, ‘You cannot fly this plane.'”

After calling her manager — who she said had previously confirmed the airline could accommodate her — Marissa was told the situation was a “miscommunication.” Ultimately, she says she was left crying and had to drive over three hours to reach her destination.

She ended the TikTok by sharing a warning to other travelers.

“Do not fly Southern Airlines,” she said. “Southern Airlines, you should absolutely be ashamed of yourself…and airlines as a whole, do fucking better.”

She also noted that this wasn’t a one-off experience. “It is always something when I’m flying,” she said. “It is very rare that I’m flying, and there isn’t a problem with my chair, or I’m not talked down to.” Marissa recalled a recent situation just a few weeks ago in which her wheelchair was mistakenly marked as luggage and almost sent to the wrong location.

So far, Southern Airways hasn’t publicly addressed Marissa’s comments, but we’ve reached out for comment.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Southern Airways shared a statement saying, “Marissa Bode’s experience is understandably upsetting, and does not reflect the standard to which we hold ourselves. We are investigating the incident, and will take all appropriate action, including making any necessary improvements to our processes and training. We have reached out to Ms. Bode to offer support and will work to address her concerns.”

If you’re a millennial of a certain age, you know Shannon Elizabeth from a few things. Between the American Pie franchise, Tomcats, Scary Movie, and even a Jay and Silent Bob movie or two, she was arguably one of the queens of the “movies you watched at a sleepover party” subcategory.

Shannon’s acting career has remained fairly steady since then, but she recently took on a new role entirely: OnlyFans creator. She joined the service just a few weeks ago, telling People at the time that starting her own OnlyFans was because “I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans.”

Well, just a few weeks later, People has a new report on how the OnlyFans foray is going for Shannon — and as it turns out, she’s seemingly struck content-creator gold in the process.

A source tells the publication that Shannon brought in “more than seven figures” on the first week she joined OnlyFans. Seven figures! Let that sink in.

The source adds that Shannon “is really making a name for herself” on her page, and they also note that there is no full nudity featured on it. “She is super happy she now gets to take control and be engaged with her fans,” the source adds.

Fans are reeling after Lisa Kudrow shared shocking revelations regarding the “mean behavior” that occurred off-camera during the filming of the hit sitcom Friends.

As most pop culture fans are aware, Lisa Kudrow and her legendary co-stars—Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer—became household names in the ‘90s. They led the iconic NBC sitcom for 10 seasons, spanning from 1994 until 2004.

The series was a massive commercial triumph; reports indicate the lead six stars began with a salary of $22,500 per episode in Season 1. By the time the third season rolled around, that figure had climbed to a substantial $100,000.

By Season 9, the ensemble famously negotiated a record-breaking $1 million per episode—at the time, the highest deal ever secured for a sitcom. Most seasons featured 24 to 25 episodes, making the cast incredibly wealthy.

Even though Friends remains a cultural phenomenon, Lisa is now exposing the darker side of the production. She recently spoke out about the mistreatment actors faced from the writing staff—specifically targeting the experiences of herself, Jennifer, and Courteney.

In a candid interview with the Times, Lisa noted that the Friends writers’ room consisted of about 12 to 15 people, the majority of whom were men. She told the outlet: “There was definitely mean stuff going on behind the scenes.”

“Don’t forget, we were recording in front of a live audience of 400, and if you messed up one of these writers’ lines or it didn’t get the perfect response, they could be like: ‘Can’t the bitch fucking read? She’s not even trying. She fucked up my line,’” Lisa recalled. “And we know that back in the room the guys would be up late discussing their sexual fantasies about Jennifer and Courteney. It was intense.”

The interview also touched upon a past legal battle where writers’ assistant Amaani Lyle filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the production. Lyle, whose role involved transcribing brainstorming sessions, was stunned by the graphic nature of the discussions regarding Jennifer and Courteney, which allegedly included crude gestures and sexual comments.

While Amaani ultimately lost her legal case, Lisa reflected on the environment: “Oh, it could be brutal, but these guys — and it was mostly men in there — were sitting up until 3 a.m. trying to write the show, so my attitude was: ‘Say what you like about me behind my back because then it doesn’t matter.’”

These insights have come as a shock to long-term fans who are voicing their horror online. Reacting to the interview on Reddit, one user commented: “What the fuck. And this is when Jennifer and Courtney were relatively quite powerful in the industry and you certainly didn’t want to piss them off. You know if those writers made disparaging comments about lead actors they would be fired.”

“Good on her for speaking out about it now, can’t imagine how difficult it must’ve been for the actors to do their jobs in an environment like this,” another fan noted. Another person contributed: “Sorry to hear that, but happy that’s she’s spilling the beans, no more protecting of shitty men 🤝”

Finally, one user simply summed up the collective frustration by stating: “men are disgusting.”
